Screenings...
Family Educators provide
county wide developmental screenings for
entrance into the Bright Futures classroom. Screening tools used
are: Brigance PreSchool Screen II and Fluharty PreSchool Speech and
Language.
Areas of development being assessed include:
- Personal-Social: child’s level of
interaction and ability to interact in social situations with
friends and adults.
- Fine Motor: child’s ability to use and
control small muscles of the body and his/her ability to use
eyes and hands together.
- Speech & Language: child’s understanding
of information, thoughts and ideas and his/her ability to
express those ideas. Grammar and articulation skills are also
included.
- Gross Motor: child’s ability to control
the large muscles of the body.
