Michele Grutter - Family Educator

I am the Family Educator for Illini Bluffs and Peoria Heights School Districts. I have been with Bright Futures for 6 years and have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.

I am looking forward to working with my families this year. My job as a Family Educator is to help find information such as discipline, sleeping habits or any other topic that families are interested in learning more about. I also provide workshops for my families that focus on some important topics. I am available for home visits and phone calls throughout the day.

I facilitate playgroups at Illini Bluffs and Peoria Heights. Playgroups are intended for children 0-5 years of age. We play with age appropriate toys and the children interact with one another. Parents are able to socialize with each other and discuss the successes and challenges of parenting. We will work together to get information to help with the challenges.

I will also continue to work this year on literacy programming and focus on getting literacy into our families homes. Reading to your child is one of the most important things you can to at home to teach your child!

I look forward to working with everyone this year!

Please contact me at 309-673-1040 and I will be happy to help answer questions you may have.
