Lynn England - Family Educator

I am the Family Educator for Elmwood and Farmington School Districts. As of 2006-07, I will be beginning my 14th year with Peoria County Bright Futures in the Family Education Program.

I facilitate play groups in both Elmwood and Farmington. This is a great opportunity for your child to socialize with other children their age, and for you to socialize with other parents within your community. I’m also available to discuss any concerns and provide resources regarding child development.

Three years ago, I obtained my certification in infant massage. I facilitate a group called Baby Basics. Within this group, we focus on Infant Massage, Baby Sign Language, SIDS, and Dr. Harvey Karp’s - Happiest Baby on the Block.

In Elmwood, I facilitate the Family Literacy at the Library. We read a story aloud, and do a lot of fun activities which pertain to the story. Each Bright Futures child receives a free book.

I also provide home visits to families within these school districts. I’m available to discuss child development, or any parenting issues or concerns you might be having.

Each district will have several workshops available for parents to attend. These workshops are facilitated by professionals in areas such as discipline, stress management, CPR, etc…

I’m looking forward to another great year! Please contact me at  309-673-1040.
